Heart Group Physicians Earn Cardiovascular Computed Tomography Distinction
Among the first in the nation to receive CCT certification
LANCASTER, Pa. (January 14, 2009) — Two cardiologists from The Heart Group are among the first physicians in the nation to be certified as diplomates of the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (CBCCT).

Ron Mathew Jacob, M.D.
The CBCCT has announced that Ajay Rai Marwaha, M.D., and Ron Mathew Jacob, M.D., passed the organization's examination to "document their skills and
knowledge in the field of cardiovascular computed tomography."
Cardiovascular computed tomography is an advanced medical technology that
produces high-resolution, three-dimensional images of the heart and coronary
arteries, enabling experienced and skilled physicians to be more effective
in discovering and diagnosing cardiovascular disease.
Drs. Marwaha and Jacob are in the first class of diplomates certified by the
CBCCT, which was established in 2007 and administered its first examination
in September 2008.
Dr. Marwaha adds the CBCCT certification to Board certifications in internal
medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
He earned his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University in
Cleveland, performed his residency in internal medicine at the Yale School
of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., and completed the Teaching Skills Program
at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Dr. Marwaha completed his
fellowship training at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa., in June
2006.
Dr. Jacob, in addition to being a CBCCT diplomate, is Board certified in
internal medicine, and cardiovascular disease, echocardiography as well as
nuclear cardiology. He performed a fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at
the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center in Ohio, where he received Level III
training in echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. He earned his
medical degree from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Karnataka,
India, and performed an internship and residency at Saint Barnabas Hospital
in Livingston, N.J. He was later a resident in internal medicine at Drexel
University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, where he was chief medical
resident and served a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine.
