The Heart Group is a dynamic, growing practice of cardiovascular physicians who are committed to providing world-class patient care while contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular science.

We were formed by a group of leading cardiovascular physicians with a common vision to create a practice that is second to none in the nation. And, indeed, they have realized their vision. Throughout the United States and around the world, The Heart Group is recognized for excellence in providing leading-edge treatments, contributing to clinical innovations and improving patient outcomes.

The Heart Group's doctors founded The Lancaster Heart & Stroke Foundation in 1993, and they continue to lead the Foundation, which conducts clinical trials that have enhanced scientific knowledge and aided in the development of new medications and treatments. By bringing these trials to Lancaster County, the Foundation affords local residents access to these advances long before they become available to the general public.

Our group also has been responsible for many medical firsts. The Heart Group's physicians have invented and improved a variety of cardiovascular devices, and we have helped pioneer interventional techniques that were performed for the first time right here in Lancaster. Our nuclear medicine program recently became one of the first nuclear cardiology laboratories in the United States to earn accreditation from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories, and we are one of just a few practices in the nation to offer lipid apheresis treatments in the comfort of our offices, outside of the hospital setting. In addition, our electrophysiology department is considered one the finest in the nation, and our congestive heart failure clinic manages well over 10,000 patient visits annually.

Patient education and disease prevention also are major focuses of our practice. We sponsor public seminars and participate in community events to raise awareness of risk factors and help people live heart-healthier lives.
